[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Fall Schedule and Sangha meeting with Hugh

Hi Sangha friends,

 

Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend and the last days of summer.  I wanted to let everyone know that we will be continuing the conversation about building the All Souls/ Downtown Dharma community and how we can contribute to that process. We had a good discussion about generosity and dana at the Sunday before last, and I think this will give us an opportunity to explore some of those ideas and questions further with Hugh.

 

We'll be meeting with Hugh on Sunday, September 30, at 4pm at Tynan Cofee and Tea in Columbia Heights at 1400 Irving St, http://tynancoffeeandtea.com/locations.html.  The gathering is open to anyone who would like to join, please feel free to come.

 

Also, Hugh has posted the schedule for the next couple months.  We'll continue doing potluck dinners once a month and will notify the group of when those will be in advance.

 

The focus of the classes this fall will be on bringing the teachings and practices of the dharma into our daily lives. The Sunday talks will explore key Buddhist teachings and their relevance in daily life. Overarching theme: Dharma in daily life. We will make an effort to orient talks under this broad umbrella of how community members can bring the teachings and practices more fully into their daily lives.
