Description
Engility corporation is seeking a highly skilled candidate to integrate, deploy and maintain information systems that directly support the U.S. Army's official homepage (www.army.mil).  The Software Developer will provide expertise to help shape and evolve existing frameworks in the PHP development environment and will advise management on the selection of technologies, architecture, software design and system support for new and existing products within the organization. 
 
Duties include (but are not limited to):
 
(1)  Provide hands on development building web applications using a PHP/LAMP infrastructure. 
 
(2)  Support frontend developers as needed with the site using a variety of client side technologies (HTML/JS/CSS).
 
(3)  Monitor database activity and refine retrieval methods as necessary to support security, performance and consistency within the site.
 
(4)  Report, document system activity and development activities as needed
 
Qualifications
Degree Requirements:  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
 
Relevant Experience: 
 
-       2+ years as a Web Developer.  
-       1+ years hands on experience using PHP/MySQL/HTML
-       1+ years hands on experience using and modifying web application frameworks (Code Igniter, Cake PHP, Zend, etc.)
-       1+ years experience using web services (REST, SOAP)
 
Preferred : 
-       Knowledge of Open Source technologies
-       Experience working with Content Distribution Networks  (Akamai, Limelight, Google, etc)
-       Knowledge of Advanced Object Oriented Techniques (Design Patterns)
-       Knowledge of Social Media API's (Facebook, Twitter, Flicker, etc)
 
Applicants selected for this position will require an interim DoD Secret clearance at a minimum and background screening. Applicants selected for a security clearance will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirement for access to classified information.
