Mission of Love Charities, Inc 6180 Old Central Avenue Capitol Heights, Maryland 20743 Hello Friend, I’m writing on behalf of Mission of Love Charities; we have served homeless and low-income families in the Maryland/DC area for over 30 years. We take tremendous pride in focusing on our clients’ basic needs for food and housing. Regrettably, the challenges we face are not only persistent but growing in complexity. Over the past year alone we have seen a substantial increase in the demand for food security, adequate shelter, and essential services for members of our community in need. These are challenges that no single organization can tackle alone. It indeed takes a collaborative community-driven effort to make a meaningful impact. As a nonprofit, our organization continually operates from grants, fundraisers, and donations. With this said, we have put together a list of ways you can assist us with serving the community in 2024. · Fall Gala- October 4th: This is an event to recognize leaders in the community who support our Mission, Vision, and Values. · Bags to School -August 15th: This is a backpack distribution event geared toward school-aged youth in the community. At last year’s event, we distributed 353 backpacks. · Golf Tournament- TBD: This will be our 3rd annual event. Last year we raised 28K toward the renovation of our new building. · Coat and Shoe Giveaway- October 15th: We will be distributing new coats and shoes for needy families. · Thanksgiving Holiday Food Basket Giveaway-November 21st. :250 turkeys are given to families in need. · Hunger and Homeless Food Drive November 11-14th- Collecting non-perishable items to stock the food pantry. · Toy Holiday Giveaway- December 21st: MOLC will distribute new toys to children. The act of giving, whether through donations or volunteering your time, is not just about contributing; it is about making a difference. In return, we ensure transparency, providing regular updates on how your generosity has been instrumental in the advancement of our mission. Together, we have the power to create a foundation of support that can lift our neighbors to safety and stability. We believe that every act of kindness resonates throughout our community, and we are sincerely grateful for any form of assistance you choose to offer.
