[Philodemic Society] Re: Resolutions for consideration at the October 19 business meeting

Non-Christmas:

Resolved: Money should be considered speech.
Resolved: Elizabeth should have waited for Mr. Darcy (MORE LITERATURE!)
Resolved: Chivalry is misogynistic.
Resolved: The New Deal, not the Great Society, is a superior social welfare model.
Resolved: Nationalism is superior to cosmopolitanism.
Resolved: Universities should prepare students for careers, not academia.

Christmas:
Resolved: All I want for Christmas is you.
Resolved: Christ was never in Xmas.
Resolved: Chinese food and a movie is better than a Christmas tree.
Resolved: Eight days are better than one. (Or, unofficially: Jews do it better.)
Resolved: Santa would have voted for Obama. (Or, if you believe Santa is real: Santa voted for Obama.)
(The following were plundered from last year's proposed resolutions)
Resolved: Santa Claus is too big to fail.
Resolved: It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Resolved: Mistletoe does more harm than good.
Resolved: It is better to give than to receive.
