[dcphp-dev] [job] LAMP/PHP Developer

STG is seeking a motivated Senior LAMP / PHP Developer to join a team at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory who collectively design, develop and deliver Web, intranet, portal and mobile optimized sites and applications in support of scientists and engineers. You will be working with and creating highly-functioning websites, web-based software and tools such as content management system extensions, social media apps, as well as larger web-based in-house software applications. As a Senior Web Developer and one of a couple technical leads, you are the know-it-all when it comes to Linux-based database driven content and web applications. You will be leading STG?s most technically challenging back-end projects and be responsible for the planning, architecture, integration and development through final client delivery. You are able to evaluate open source solutions and provide buy vs. build guidance. You are the resourceful technical lead who has all of the answers or knows where to get them. You are abreast of the latest techniques, and are ready to translate our customer?s business goals into usable back-end applications.

 

Responsibilities:

? Creates highly complex, customized applications, with rich user interfaces, to enhance user experience and user website capability based on business needs.

? Researches, tracks, and understands new web technologies to provide technical leadership in developing service applications and analyzing business requirements.

? Develop solutions that extend existing web content management system (CMS) product functionality, existing collaboration / collaboration tools or deliver new functionality.

 

Qualifications:

 

Active DoD Secret clearance is required prior hire.

 

 Requirements:

? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering

? 6 - 8 years experience in designing, developing and delivering richly packed Web 2.0 web applications and portals

? Strong experience and advanced knowledge of PHP 5+ a must.

? Understanding of Cloud computing, SAAS highly desirable

? Experience with C#, Java, AJAX, JQuery, mySQL, HTML, HTML5, CSS, Javascript is highly desirable. Other languages a plus.

? Solid experience with LAMP stack and open source software in general

? Strong Object Oriented Programming skills

? Knowledge and experience with open source systems to include but not limited to Joomla, and Drupal,

? In- depth knowledge of software development and coding techniques and writing clean, maintainable code

? Must be able to gather requirements, design, code and test independently as well as work jointly with the team

? Engage in long-term technical planning and influences the direction of the organization?s infrastructure

? Develop, maintain and optimize secure and scalable multi-tier web applications.

 

? Proactively monitors and troubleshoots infrastructure issues and application performance

? Strong oral and written communication skills

? Detail oriented and ability to work under pressure and short timelines with little supervision
