I thought this might be of interest to some on the list. On Tuesday, a few of us local to DC will be hosting a special CiviCRM users' group meeting to discuss (tools for) volunteer management. CiviCRM, for those not familiar with the project, is an open source constituent relationship manager built in PHP that integrates nicely with the Drupal, Joomla, and WordPress platforms.
This users' group meeting will focus on soliciting feedback for CiviVolunteer, the proposed suite of volunteer management tools, which you can read a bit about in this blog post. Additionally, we're hoping to hear about folks' experiences managing volunteers and how their tools have helped or gotten in the way.
