I have also started receiving cold calls from phone numbers with odd
area codes (I'm guessing that this is being done via Skype or some
similar program), and have had the same issues that anonymous
encountered (not familiar with the area, thick barely understandable
accents, and not willing to reveal client)
I guess that it's more a sign of the time and the up turn in the job
market. Since I can't really afford a receptionist my strategy is just
to let any numbers with odd area codes go to voicemail and then I
screen at my leisure.
Talk about 1st world problems, eh?
