JOB SUMMARY

As part of this role, you will be working with a talented team on designing and developing a public facing content management system. If you enjoy coding in object oriented programming, MVC frameworks, and working with the latest open source tools like APIs, JavaScript, and JQuery, this should be a fun and exciting opportunity for you.


JOB DUTIES

Under minimal direction, performs as a senior web application developer in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new PHP-based application software. The candidate will work with an agile development team to understand and develop new web applications, or rewriting existing legacy applications into modern PHP frameworks. The candidate will work with the Project Manager to manage the client relationship and requirements, and translate them for the rest of the team, as needed. The candidate will participate in agile (specifically Scrum) development sprints. This is an evenly-paced, mature, and stable development environment where the ability to pick up new tools and technologies is important as the environment presents many challenges as well as growth opportunities. The ideal candidate for this position meets the skills and qualifications for this role and enjoys programming.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* 5+ years of critical thinking and overall problem solving skills.

* 5+ years of solid PHP programming experience, minimum 3 years of MVC/Object Oriented programming in PHP

* 2+ years of experience with designing and developing relational databases (e.g. MySQL or Oracle)

* Experience with the Symfony Framework

* Experience with working in medium to large development teams

* Experience with development tools such as SVN, GIT, TRAC, Jira, and Confluence

* Experience with HTML 5/CSS3

* Ability to work independently and in a team setting

* Experience with accessibility standards and 508 compliance

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

* Excellent communication skills

* Ability to multi-task

Preferred experience:

* Agile experience highly desired

* Experience with JavaScript/Mean stack programming a plus

* Linux/Unit tests/CI/Jenkins a plus

*Undergraduate Degree
