[dcphp-dev] [job] Database Developer Opportunity

Job Description:

The current project team is developing a data collection and reporting software system for the Federal Government.  In order to validate the collected data, the software will call many complex stored procedure to query related data and check for anomalistic patters and mathematical errors.  The database developer is primarily responsible for writing these stored procedures based on validation rule requirements and documentation of the current database structures and relationships.  Upon developing each validation check, the database developer must write automated tests using SQL to verify the code is working as expected.  The current project operates under the Agile Scrum methodology and team members are responsible for completing assigned work items by then end of each sprint.

 

Required Skills:

  • Proficient with relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, DB2, Oracle
  • Advanced programming in different SQL dialects, query optimization, stored procedures development, triggers, and database performance tuning
  • Ability to analyze and quickly understand existing database structures and relationships
  • Experience with software versioning and revision control systems such as Subversion, Git, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • At least five (5) years of related experience

 

Preferred Skills:

·        Proficient in MySQL specifically

·        Basic programing experience outside of database stored procedures such as Java, C#.
 
This person will be mainly just writing stored procedures within MySQL.
