with
A CarrotMob for Paid Sick Days
at
Busboys and Poets

Join JOTF and Working Matters as we kick off the 2013 legislative session, get energized about the Maryland Campaign for Paid Sick Days and "mob" Busboys and Poets in celebration of their  Paid Sick Leave policy.

 January 14, 2013
4 - 6 p.m.

Busboys and Poets
5331 Baltimore Avenue
Hyattsville, MD 20781

Bring your family and friends to hear from public officials, leaders in the Maryland Campaign for Paid Sick Days, and Busboys and Poets owner Andy Shallal.

What is a CarrotMob?
CarrotMobbing is a way to enrich the Paid Sick Days campaign by using our consumer dollars and buying power to reward businesses that have socially responsible practices. As patrons of companies with good business practices, we can encourage our peers and lawmakers to see the importance of valuing workers and their families.

Andy Shallal makes sure his staff members have the opportunity to take a paid day off when they or a loved one are sick. This means Busboys and Poets employees can get well sooner, bring fewer germs to the workplace and are more likely to stay in their jobs. Paid Sick Days have worked for Andy's business and we want to extend the dignity of paid sick leave to all Maryland workers.

Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP.

Hi Sheri:

It has been a while since we last spoke.  I trust all is well!

I am writing for a number of reasons.  Firstly, unfortunately I can  not make it to the Mitten Mixer this evening.  I wanted to know if I can drop my donations off to your office tomorrow morning around 11:30 a.m.?  I really wanted to attend but completely forgot that I agreed to appear on a panel discussion on Women & Race in Baltimore.  Secondly, I wanted to see if you had any time tomorrow or next week for a quick chat.  I want to fill you in on some things that JOTF has been doing and solicit your ideas on some initiatives we are exploring both in Annapolis and Prince George's County.  I would be available tomorrow anytime after 11:30 am and am pretty open next week.  Please let me know what works for you and how you would like to proceed.

Thanks so much for all the work that you do.  I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Take care,
Caryn
