Opportunities for High School and College Students
December 8, 2012

Mrs. Goode,
As you prepare to for the end of 2012, the Department of Engineering at Norfolk State University wants to thank you for your efforts to educate tomorrow's leaders.

We live in challenging times and because of your attention and commitment to students, we are encouraged that our country is going to be in good hands. So thank you for doing what you do.

Below is a scholarship application for any students interested in studying engineering at Norfolk State University. Please print as many as you need and have students apply to the university as well as complete the scholarship application. Funds are limited, so the sooner students apply, the better.

We appreciate your attention and thanks in advance for encouraging students to continue their education at Norfolk State University. Feel free to contact me at wnodom@nsu.edu  until January 2013.

Have a wonderful holiday!

All the best,
Walter Odom

Dear High School Principals, and STEM Coordinators,

It is once again time to announce the open season for applications to NASA Summer High School Internships.

Attached you will find information on the 2013 NASA GSFC Summer Internship Program application process.

I encourage you to make this flyer available to interested students at your school. The NASA "One Stop Shopping Initiative Recruiting NASA Interns, Fellows, and Scholars" (OSSI/NIFS) website is open for applications between November 1, 2012 through March 15, 2013 at https://intern.nasa.gov.
This is now the only website accepting applications for Summer 2013 positions.

If after reviewing the program information any questions arise, please do not hesitate to contact me.

We value your support in helping us extend this opportunity to students interested in the work of NASA.

Best regards,

KJB

FYI – I'm seeking a college student or grad student to intern with me next semester, to begin in January. If you know of such a student studying international studies, Africa studies, journalism, communications or TV production  send my way.

Students need to send me a cover letter with an attached resume. They are welcomed to begin in January and intern until May 31, 2013.

I'll provide Metro fare during their internship.

Thanks,
Roblyn
