Good morning,

With the advent of all the social media advice on job search, networking, interviewing, negotiations, the first 30 and 90 days on the job, career management, etc., one can get overwhelmed with counsel.  While these advisories offer new information and vehicles, the basics remain the same.  Know who you are, what you want, what you bring to the table and what tables you want to approach for consideration of investing the next part of your life.

One of the very best pieces of advice I have seen in my 40+ years of recruiting, job search and career management is Nick Corcodilos's bit that was published some years ago in Fast Company, and repeated in his own column again recently, "Ask the Headhunter."  That bit of counsel is, for the recruiter and for the job seeker, "What is your business plan for doing this job profitably?"

Think about the question and what is required to provide the type answer that will get the offer.

Remember, in job search, the job is to get the offer so you have the last options.  This means getting an offer that you want to be able to say "yes" to comfortably and with pride.
