[Downtown Dharma Listserve] This Sunday at Flow: Softening the Hard Places

Greetings Friends,

This Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm we will gather at Flow Yoga, 1450 P St NW. Just a reminder that at this new location, the front door closes at 6:05 so to join the class, you'll need to be on time.

Unless you're a monastic in extended seclusion, you're probably faced with the challenge of at least one difficult person who, for the time being anyway, features regularly in our daily life. When interacting with this person, how can our practice support us in not getting thrown off balance, in staying true to our values and intentions? In our internal experience, how might the Dharma support us in the suffering that comes with wishing someone to be other than they are? How might we soften the hard places that can develop over time in our work, family and friendships, without selling ourselves out or necessitating that someone else change? Join us on Sunday to explore this territory, the Dharma of the Difficult Person.

Unfortunately, our meeting space is not wheelchair accessible.Cushions and back jacks will be provided and we can go over how to make those arrangements comfortable for those of you who are used to sitting in chairs. If you are able to come early to help set up, that would be most appreciated.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday at Flow!

Kristin
