Your Mission Insider Newsletter is here!

We are very excited to share some big news with you about the future of Mission of Love Charities in our November Newsletter. With the holidays right around the corner we are asking for you help serving homeless and low-income families.
November 2017
We are very excited to share our new image and update you on all the things our organization has been working on since last May of 2017. The big first change was the revision and approval of our mission statement which was approved last June by our Board of Directors. Our mission is to empower, educate, and advocate for low-income individuals and families in order to diminish poverty in our community. We are also happy to share our new logo which represents the new look for our organization. The heart is still present representing the love and care we have for our clients and community but is now formed by two arms which come together creating a hug, the human figure was replaced by the formed heart and the circle on top creates the human figure now. The colors represent peace, trust, loyalty, health, energy and warmth.

We have also expanded programming and worked on strengthening the structure of the organization in order to improve our operations and services. Our new strategy is to partner with different agencies and organizations in order to enhance our services and fill the gaps in services needed in our community.

We hope this Newsletter which we named "Mission Insider" will allow our organization to communicate with its stakeholders and community to share information about its programs and services as well as to honor the individuals that make our work possible.

Mission of Love Charities (MOLC) opened its new food pantry at its warehouse located at 6180 Old Central Ave. Capitol Heights, MD on July 5, 2017 and hopes to serve at least 1,200 individuals and families in need this Fiscal Year. MOLC's pantry is open six days a week and provides free food for homeless and low-income individuals and families below 150% of the federal poverty guideline. Eligibility is based on household income and individuals/families must bring proof of income for each member of the household as well as a valid form of ID. Our organization partners with the Capital Area Food Bank and purchases food from them at .19 cents per pound in order to stock the pantry weekly. Donations are always welcome as the need for food in the community is vast.
If you are shopping at Amazon on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, a percentage of your purchase can be donated to the Mission of Love Charities, Inc.
