Dear friends,
Two years ago today, shortly before Thanksgiving in November of 2015, my family home in West Virginia burnt to the ground. This raised my awareness of how important it is to have a stable, safe home and that having a home is an enormous blessing. As a result, I've committed to doing a major fundraiser for the homeless each year. This year I'm running a 5K on Thanksgiving Day to raise money for SOME, a non-profit which provides essential support for the poor and homeless and helps ensure that hungry District residents have a hot meal on Thanksgiving Day and every other day of the year.
You can help me support people in need by sponsoring my 5K and making a tax-deductible contribution in my name. Please click on this link to make a donation: Click here to visit my personal page.
Your support makes a world of difference in the life of a child or adult in need.

In addition, SOME provides clothing, medical care, job training, affordable housing, programs for the elderly and other services that empower individuals to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
