[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Join us: EcoDharma at the Lamont Dharma House (May 25, 7-8:30 p.m.)

EcoDharma – Applying Buddhist wisdom to our ecological crisis
Location: Lamont Dharma House
Date/time: Thursday May 25, 7-8:30 p.m.

What does it mean to live in accordance with Buddhist principles in the context of global climate change? What would our lives look like if we were to respond to the environmental crisis as an expression of our Buddhist path? How can Buddhism, with its understanding of greed, hatred and delusion, as well as its deep exploration of our connectedness and inter-being, contribute to a conversation about broad-scale transformation?

Join Kristin Barker, Director and Co-Founder of One Earth Sangha, Thursday, May 25 for an exploration of how we actualize the Bodhisattva vow and help ourselves and others fully awaken to the truth of a warming world.

The session will begin with a period of silent meditation, then a dharma (teaching)  talk, and afterwards brief time for Q & A.

The session is from 7-8:30 p.m. If you arrive late please wait to enter until the meditation has ended.

This event is free and open to the public, but we encourage people to give dana (donation) to support the teachers and the space. The suggested donation for this event is $10-15.

Lamont Dharma House is car, Metro and bus accessible. Limited public, metered parking is available in the neighborhood. The venue is not handicapped accessible.

No registration is necessary.

Newcomers to meditation and long time practitioners are welcome. Chairs, cushions, pillows, mats are provided or you may bring your sitting gear.

I am available if you have any questions. Thanks!
