[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Join us Tomorrow: Daylong (or 1/2) Meditation at Lamont Dharma House

In times of busy schedules, living and/or working in an environment that is constantly changing with endless to-do lists, a silent space, clear mind and an open heart can be our greatest allies. Join us tomorrow for a day (or 1/2) of meditation. We observe the age-old tradition of "noble silence" throughout the day and alternate between sitting and walking meditation.

The practice begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. You are welcome even if you can only make it for a portion of the day. However, to maintain a solid container for the practice, we ask folks to commit to at least the full morning (10-12:30) or full afternoon (2-5:30).

There is an hour and a half (1.5 hours) lunch break, during which we will also hold silence. You can bring your own lunch and use the house's kitchen and dining areas on the second floor. Or, you can purchase food nearby (there are a number of options in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, including the farmers market).

At the end of the day, we will break silence and those who are interested are welcome to stay for tea and conversation.

We have a limited number of cushions, mats, blankets and chairs for sitting and encourage you to bring our own sitting materials if available.

3:30-4:15 sitting meditation

4:15-4:45 walking meditation

4:45-5:30 sitting meditation

5:30-6:30 tea and conversation
