Dear sangha members,
Please let me know if you would like to volunteer to help with the Anacostia Watershed Society Cleanup on April 25. I'm in touch with a very enthusiastic and seemingly well-organized site leader who is helping coordinate the Dueling Creek site clean up in Colmar Manor, MD. Here are some of the relevant details:
Location and time: The meeting spot will be at the Colmar Manor Town Hall at approximately 9 am, April 25. The clean up is scheduled from 9 am-noon. (There are two groups meeting at the town hall. We'll be doing the Dueling Creek Clean up, which is led by Fran Toler.) There is a celebratory picnic from noon - 2pm at the Bladensburg Waterfront park if you'd like to do that, too.
Transport: There are several people who are interested who have cars and can offer rides. It is also possible to get to the City Hall by public transit. From the Dupont area, you would take the red line to the Rhode Island Ave. Station and then the T18 bus to 38th and Bladensburg Road. But based on the number of people with cars who offered to carpool, I don't think it will be necessary for any one to attempt to use a new public transit route early on a Saturday morning.
