Prometheus Computing is looking for a strong software developer to participate in the development of a web-based data curating system. This position will be located at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) located in Gaithersburg, MD.

 

Primary job duties include:

• Developing user and system management functionality including system event logging, integration with NIST user authentication systems, and system administration dashboards using the Symphony PHP framework
• Implementing data repository backup and restoration facilities.
• Developing system documentation for deployment, maintenance, and operation.
• Developing online context-sensitive user help/documentation in HTML5.
• Developing installation wizards to greatly facilitate deployment.

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or Computer Engineering
• 5 years' experience in software and web development including PHP, Java, JavaScript, AJAX, modern CSS, HTML development experience
• 2 years' experience with databases, including knowledge of NOSQL and Graph database technology (NEO4j and MongDB).
• 2 years' experience with Semantic Web technologies including RDF, OWL, SPARQL, and ontologies.
• 5 years' experience in XML, XSLT, XML Tools and APIs.

 

Desired Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering
• Extensive knowledge in PHP
• 5 years' experience in MVC frameworks
• 5 years' experience in software integration with various datastore backends.
