[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Day of mindfulness: Freeing Our Creativity with Kaira Jewel

Saturday, Sept 3rd
10am-5pm

This workshop is for artists and for anyone wishing to unlock their creativity and overcome their inhibitions to full expression. We will explore mindfulness practices that can help each of us connect with and enliven our creative fire. Mindfulness is being here now, with kindness and openhearted curiosity. Cultivating this source of energy is vital to reconnecting with our creative life force.

During this day, we will slow down and come home to our body and breath by practicing sitting, walking and eating meditation together, as well as deep relaxation, mindfulness teachings, and group discussion. We will also use the tools of InterPlay—improvisational movement, voice and storytelling—to encourage creative exploration and embody mindfulness through play.
This workshop is open to everyone. No mindfulness experience required. Limited scholarships are available.

An ordained nun in the Plum Village tradition for 15 years, Kaira Jewel Lingo is now a lay Dharma teacher and regularly leads mindfulness retreats and programs for artists in the US and abroad.

"Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how well it turns out." Vaclav Havel
