This position is perfect for someone who likes to work with different kinds of open source systems, hosting environments, and clients, learning something new every day. Confluence provides open source web solutions to a wide variety of mostly civic-minded nonprofits – so you can expect to work on all kinds of projects!  You might troubleshoot a MySQL database crash one day, in between the implementation of a custom application used by tens of thousands of people the next. You should be able to thrive whether working within a team one day or independently the next.  If you agree that variety is the spice of life, this job is for you!  You will learn from some of the best in the business. Our offices are downtown DC.

 

  • Creating Joomla, Drupal and/or WordPress themes
  • Contributing to the next generation of open source CRM systems
  • Designing and implementing functional website components in Joomla, WordPress or Drupal, using PHP
  • Ad-hoc programming in PHP
  • Review of existing websites to come up with suggestions for improvement
  • Migrating websites across hosts
  • Light Javascript programming / debugging
  • Troubleshooting client website issues / technical support

 

Skills and Requirements

  • 3 years PHP
  • Open Source CMS, Joomla preferred
  • XHTML, CSS
  • MySQL
  • Verbal and written communication

 

Key Technologies or Roles

·         PHP

·         MySQL

·         (one of) - Drupal Joomla! or WordPress

·         JQuery
