[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Sunday @ The Potter's House

Hi friends,

We will meet this Sunday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the Community Room at the Potters House Cafe, located at 1658 Columbia Rd. NW. The space is wheelchair accessible.

This week we will be looking at the second of the five aggregates, called vedena (english = feeling tone or sensation). You may remember vedena from other classic lists, like the four foundations of mindfulness, though we will be taking a slightly different approach than we did when we discussed it over the summer. Most of the time the experience of vedena goes unnoticed, but the teachings suggest that by bringing a conscious attention to it we can interrupt the pattern that perpetuates suffering.

(Also, as promised, we will delve a little into Ryland's question about where anger against injustice fits into Buddhist teachings.)

Looking forward to seeing you Sunday!

With love,
Devin
