Good evening Young Souls,

We've received a call for action for tomorrow morning from 6:30am-9am from our Quaker faith allies for a reminder to Trump, who is attending a prayer breakfast, of our spiritual relating to our personal reaction to the Muslim ban. We would like to greet him with our faith in practice. Here is the Facebook event with more details. It's bright and early tomorrow morning, so I'm off to bed! Hope to see you at sunrise with beautiful signs with statements about the inherent worth and dignity of every person, and any other inspiring words of wisdom you may have to bestow upon him.

With love,
Alice

February 2, 2017, 6:30 am - 9:00 am
Meet 6:30 am Thursday in front of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church (1830 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20009). We will walk from there to the Washington Hilton (1919 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20009) by no later than 7:00 am. Please bring signs reflective of our faithful solidarity with immigrants, refugees, and Muslims.

Contact Rev. Dr. Carolyn Davis, alt.carolyn@gmail.com or Michael Wear, Founder, Public Square Strategies, LLC, Michael@PublicSquareStrategies.com.

Witness will take place outside. Please dress accordingly. Signage encouraged. Participants are encouraged to wear attire reflective of their faith tradition.

The recent Executive Orders targeting immigrants and abandoning refugees violate both core American values. They also attack the central values of many of our faith traditions. As people of faith, we prioritize welcoming the stranger and providing hospitality to those in need.

In partnership with religious organizations, churches and religious leaders, we invite both clergy and people of faith to join us outside The Washington Hilton on Thursday morning. We will be standing in solidarity with one another in support of an immigration and refugee policy that is compassionate, just and merciful. We pray that our witness might bring broader awareness to the position of many faithful people on this issue.
