[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Invitation to Mindful Games night 11/18 - supporting Minds Incorporated of DC

Hi Friends/Colleagues/Fellow Meditators~!

My husband Lee and I would love for you to join us at our home on Wednesday, November 18 at 7pm (doors open at 6:30) for light food, drinks and "mindful games" to raise funds for Minds Incorporated (go ahead, check them out), a local nonprofit that's close to my heart and led by my good friend Jesse Torrence.  In case you're busy on the 18th, but want to donate and don't plan to scroll down (smartphone reader shout-out!), I'll throw this out at the top... check out: http://mindsincorporated.org/support/

Minds Incorporated teaches mindfulness to ease stress and emotional suffering and plant seeds of happiness and compassion. In schools. To students, teachers and parents. (Where were they when we were that age?)

I've had the real pleasure of teaching with Minds and seeing four high classrooms transform over 8-weeks from cliquey and scared to free-spirited and authentic. I'm talking soccer captain sticking up for the kid wearing thick-rimmed glasses kind of stuff.

In just two years, Minds Incorporated taught over 8,000 students, teachers, and parents in over thirty-five K-12 schools across the D.C. area. They're so successful because they have amazing teachers (just sayin') and Jesse and his team stretch every dollar. (It feels so good to give to them.) More schools are calling. They need our help! If you can't make it and want to donate, here's that link again: http://mindsincorporated.org/support/

But we hope you can come! We're suggesting you bring along a minimum donation of $40 for Minds. (Same price as a movie night? Not that I go to movies... but I would like to. I digress.) And you're most welcome even if you can't donate right now.

In addition to getting to know more of our spectacular friends (we love you!), you'll meet Minds Incorporated staff & board, and be among the first to see their newest video. It's perfect for shedding some feel-good tears.

Faster than you can write "RSVP" onto your to-do list, go ahead and RSVP here: http://bit.ly/MindfulGamesFundraiser.

If you can't make it and want to donate: http://mindsincorporated.org/support/

Feel free to invite friends/colleagues/crushes/your kids.
