Pam,

I'm often in the same boat - coming from the U St area - and would also like to share a ride.

However, it's pretty easy to get to the class by public transportation (I've done it myself and it doesn't take much more time than just driving from here): take the red line to Friendship Heights and get there a bit before 7:15.  (A train leaving Dupont and 10 ten 7 will get there before 7:15.)  Then take the T2 bus  (or it's the T4).  It leaves from Western Ave across from the outdoor Metro escalator on the NE corner of Western and Wisconsin.  You'll be at River Road Unitarian with time to spare (well, minutes).  It's pretty seamless.
