[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Correction and Request Re: This Sunday's Sangha

Greetings Dear Community,

Correction: After receiving some clarification from IMCW and Yoga District, I'm clarifying here the policy regarding in-person attendance at tonight's gathering.

In-person attendees need to register with the studio and submit proof of boosted vaccination. You will also need to wear a mask. For everyone's safety and for the viability of this offering, these requirements are not negotiable.

You can register through the Yoga District scheduling site, and you can submit proof of vaccination to yogadc@yogadistrict.com or present it in person at the studio. We ask everyone to register and submit proof of vaccination ahead of time so that we don't have long delays when we all get together.

Request: Also, we are in need of volunteers to support the Sangha. If you are able to help with check-ins or offer other support, please contact Kavya. This is a beautiful and important way to support our community.

With appreciation,
Kristin

Greetings Dear Community,

Though not in the headlines, you may be aware that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released another significant report this past Monday. Like previous reports, the news is not good and we don't have a lot of time to turn things around for life on Earth.

When faced with the reality of our situation, grief and fear are natural. It's easy to feel overwhelmed, hopeless, or helpless. What are the gifts our mindfulness practices and the dharma offer to help us meet this moment and respond in ways that actually help? We'll be exploring these and other critical questions this Sunday. I hope to see you there or online.

With appreciation,
Kristin

Attending In Person

Summary: all in-person attendees should be fully vaccinated, masks will be optional, arrive early!

Details:

  • IMCW is reworking their COVID-policy and it will be finalized next week. Per the draft policy, which we will use this Sunday, neither masks nor proof of vaccination are required but IMCW requests that all those attending Sangha in person are fully vaccinated against COVID19.
  • Yoga District no longer requires advanced registration.
  • Please endeavour to come 10 minutes early, around 6:50, to get settled. As we staff these events with volunteers from the Sangha, there will be no one at the desk to admit latecomers. The doors will be closed and locked at 7:10.
  • Please note that the class is held on the 3rd floor, up two flights of stairs. There are rugs, bolsters, and folding chairs for seating.
