[Downtown Dharma Listserve] This Sunday at Potter's House: Equanimity - Finding Your Zen Place

Greetings Friends,

This Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm we will gather at Potter's House in the Community Room behind the bookstore/cafe.

After an opening meditation practice, we'll examine the enormous promise of equanimity.

From the perspective of Western philosophy, equanimity offers the potential for holding opposing forces in balance. Western Psychology might view equanimity as our capacity for emotional regulation. Throughout the Buddhist teachings, equanimity is elevated as a culmination of insight and ability. Yet it remains completely accessible to practitioners at any level as a means to generate calm and a healthy perspective on all that proves difficult in our lives. Join us on Sunday to explore the promise and practice of equanimity.

The meeting space is wheelchair accessible. Chairs and some meditation cushions will be available, but please feel free to bring your own cushion if you like.  If you can come early to help set up, that would be most appreciated.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Kristin
