[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Mindful of Earth - Join the IMCW Daylong this Saturday

Greetings Friends,

If news of the growing climate crisis and loss of nature brings up difficult feelings, you are not alone. Climate change and related ecological crises arguably present an unprecedented psychological and emotional challenge. Yet there is no suffering that our mindfulness practice cannot meet, from the heart's smallest jealousy to global climate change and the pervasive degradation of nature.

In recognition of Earth Day, join Eco-Dharma teachers Kristin Barker and Amy Smith this Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at DC's Center for Mindful Living for a compassionate, mindful holding of ecological crises. We'll explore only some of what that the Mindfulness wisdom tradition has to offer to this moment. In the context of community and hopefully outside (!), we'll engage in the practices that can discover and nourish the seeds of a robust, steady and deeply meaningful response to climate change, and deepen our connection with the preciousness of this interdependent life.

We hope you'll join our community this Saturday in cultivating a mindful and heartful response to the climate crisis. The weather forecast looks great so we plan to do much of our practice outside at a local park. Scholarships are available for the $75 registration fee. More information and registration here.

I hope to see you there!

In Sangha,
Kristin
