[Downtown Dharma Listserve] [DHARMA HOUSING] Beautiful 2 bed/1 bath fully furnished apt 1 block from Potter's House - mid August, $2950

Dear All,

Please pardon the post that's not directly teaching or practice related (except that everything is teaching us :). I'm planning to head off on a multi-month retreat in the second half of August and not return to DC for a year or two. My apartment just one block from Potter's House has hosted a few Buddha Brunches, days of practice, home retreats, and a couple of iterations of sitting groups through the years. I'd love for it to stay in the sangha community and hope someone from this sangha may be looking for housing.

The unit features vaulted ceilings, hard wood floors, spacious living room, large formal dining room, big kitchen, and a private balcony. It faces an interior courtyard and there's not back street or alleyway, so it's very quiet nearly all the time. The building also has free laundry and a shared roof deck with monument/cathedral views.

It's perfect for two people, or a couple. I even lived with a couple for about 2 years. If you are interested but would need a roommate, there's a woman who is very interested but in need of a roommate (and going on her first 10-day retreat next month!).

Full details below.

With gratitude and Metta,
Paul

The Location:
Everything in Adams Morgan is within 4 or 5 blocks:
Restaurants: Michelin-starred Tail Up GoatDonburiAmsterdam Falafel; Zenebech (DC's best Ethiopian!!); and on and on
Coffee!: Sweet ScienceSong Byrd cafe & music house; Potter's House; Philz
Live Music: Black Squirrel; Black Cat; Madam's Organ; Columbia Station; Bossa; etc, etc.
Grocery stores: Harris Teeter; Safeway (40 feet away!); Yes! Organic;  Glen's Garden Market
Mindfulness of Body: There's a municipal pool about 4 blocks away, plus Gyms, Yoga Studios, and more all 1-5 blocks close
Parks/Green Spaces: Rock Creek Park is a very short walk (AMAZING place for hiking [yes, hiking], running, biking - just generally being outdoors), the National Zoo, Meridian Hill Park, and other outdoor spaces are a short walk. Living close to Rock Creek makes it easy to get a little flora-fauna-outdoors fix most days.
Parking: on street with permit (there are plenty of streets w/ no street sweeping!)
Buses: Metrobuses 42, 43, H1 and the Woodley Park-McPherson Square Circulator stop directly in front of the building. Pretty much all the S lines, the H lines, the L1/L2, and the 53, 54 are 2-3 blocks away.
Metro: Red, Yellow, and Green (yup, traffic signal colors) as the Woodley Park and Columbia Heights metro stations are both about 12 minutes by foot, quicker by Circulator bus.
