[IMCW-Engaged-Sangha] Grocery Walk for Food Justice - Sat Oct 14th

Greetings All, 

Friendly reminder Walk for Food Justice this Saturday Oct 14th. 

I will be there walking with folks from Howard University College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences

Come by and join us!  I will be there about 9:30. 

Event details below from the website.  Congress Heights closest metro - then about 9 min walk to the Giant Supermarket where we will gather and start walk 10:15.

EVENT DETAILS

10:00 AM: Participants gather at the Giant Supermarket located at 1535 Alabama Ave SE, Washington, D.C. 20032

10:10 AM: Kick-off by Ambrose Lane, Health Alliance Network

10:15 AM: Walk begins. The route is a total of 2 miles, walking West along Alabama Ave SE to walking North on MLK Avenue SE towards the Anacostia Metro Station with a police escort

11:00 AM: Walkers arrive at destination, 2500 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE. Water and light snacks will be available, courtesy of the Capital Area Food Bank and Giant Foods.

11:15 AM: Rally begins at 2424 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE

11:30 AM: Resource Fair with light refreshments and opportunities to learn about DC-based food justice organizations and activities.

12:00 PM: Event ends
