Dear sangha friends, I would be grateful if you could forward this info to your sanghas, as well as educators and others in your community interested in mindfulness in education.
Thank you!

Dear friends,
On Saturday, April 1, 2017,
In this daylong for educators we will learn and practice tools for taking good care of ourselves, so that we can be truly present for those we teach, and bring the best of ourselves into the classroom. We will slow down and come home to our body and breath by practicing mindful sitting, walking and eating silently together, as well as deep relaxation, a mindfulness talk, and group discussion. We will also use the tools of InterPlay—improvisational movement and storytelling—to access the wisdom of the body, and touch our inherent grace and ease.
Kaira Jewel Lingo has been offering retreats and day of mindfulness internationally for educators since 2008. She helped to initiate and develop Wake Up Schools, a program cultivating mindfulness in education. She also edited Planting Seeds: Practicing Mindfulness with Children. With Minds, Incorporated and other organizations, she teaches mindfulness in DC public schools to students, teachers, staff and parents.
The Day of Practice on April 1 will be held at Seekers Church, 276 Carroll Street NW, Washington, DC 20012, just across the street from the Takoma Park metro station. We will start at 9:30 am and end at 4:30 pm. For more information, and to register for this event, please visit:

We hope to see many of you there. Whether you are a teacher, school counselor, administrator, or simply have an interest in mindfulness in education — all are welcome. We would also appreciate your help in getting out the word in your networks. Thank you!

Dearest sister Kaira Jewel, Thank you for this lovely newsletter with so much enriching content. I would love to listening to the deep relaxation but only an "untitled" page comes up. Also, the other links in the newsletter don't seem to work for me - maybe it's me? Hope you're well and very happy the Colours of Compassion retreat in Horsham was a success! Kareem said it was amazing. Thank you for sending your love through him. It was my nephew's birthday party that weekend. Love, Elina
Dear Elina, glad you liked the newsletter! I checked the links and they work for me. I will try forwarding it to you and see if that changes things. Not sure what happened. In any case, here is the direct link for the guided relaxation. kairajewel.com/gift (you have to subscribe first, sorry for that!) I'd be happy for your feedback on the meditation as well if you want to share. We missed you at the BAME retreat for sure. And glad you were with family that weekend, too. I hope I'll get to see you next time I'm in the UK! I suppose you will hear from Renuka that many good ideas are springing up from the retreat about having more regular BAME sangha gatherings. Hopefully you can take part! sending much love and care, Kaira Jewel "There is only one kind of success that really matters: the success of transforming ourselves, transforming our afflictions, fear, and anger. Dear Elina, can you open these links any better? thanks for keeping me informed about these things! blessings,
Hi Kaira Jewel, No, the links in your forwarded newsletter seem to still come up with blank pages for me. Maybe it's just my computer. I've signed up to the relaxation and will enjoy this later today :) I know there's a Mindful & Compassionate Leadership retreat in PV in June and thought this online conference might be a good opportunity to promote the retreat perhaps. Wonderful about more BAME gatherings! I'll check in with Renuka at some point. Love and a hug, Elina
Dear Kaira Jewel, I don't find an announcement of your workshop posted on the MiEN listserv. i suggest that you do this yourself. I hope you participate on it. If not, just send a blank email to MiEN-subscribe@yahoogroups.com I don't think it will work for El and me to get together with you Monday or Tuesday. We'd be glad to stick around after the day of mindfulness and take you somewhere for tea if that works. If not, we just happy to be able to be with you for your DoM. love, Richard |
