Another opportunity through our wonderful community for a home for intentional living! I will hopefully have a new home (in process of buying now) as of October 30. It's in Kensington and I'll be looking for two housemates who are interested in creating together community that is supportive of deepening our spiritual/meditative practices and also of having fun and feeling relaxed to be ourselves!
I see this as some configuration of regular sits together and a heathy balance of camaraderie, occasional meals, dharma talks, contemplations, and time to ourselves. I'm also open to suggestions too! I'll be new to Kensington, myself, but everyone I've talked to loves it there. And it's well-located – convenient to many things (DC, the beltway, metro, MARC train, etc.).
The home is set up in such a way that each person would have their own bedroom and bath. The basement has its own bedroom and a little living room and a bathroom; the first floor has a bedroom and bath (there's a smaller bedroom next to that which I was thinking of as one of the meditation areas but am not totally decided yet); and the top floor with a bedroom and bath is what I would occupy for myself. There a nice big back yard that I'm looking at as a canvas for fun! And open to suggestions/participation. The rent would be about $900/mo (still working out final figures!) plus 1/3 utilities (approx. 100 or less). And I'd be looking for roommates somewhere in the November/December timeframe.
