Senior PHP Developer (for Junior level- work can be 1 year full time or 4-5 years doing freelance development)

Senior PHP developer needed to design, develop, troubleshoot, and enhance complex websites relating to internet access offerings, trouble ticketing, invoicing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate must be able to work with internal user groups and external customers to understand business needs, determine LOE, present ROI to management, and manage the solution implementation.

Required:

4+ years full-time experience developing PHP web applications in a team environment.
1-2 years full-time experience with MS SQL Server, including stored procedures.
1-3 years experience with HTML/CSS/Javascript/JQuery.
Experience in all phases of SDLC, OO analysis and design, and revision control systems.
Knowledge of networking and telecommunications industry. If you can configure a Cisco ASR router, go to the head of the line.
Ability to converse with end-users, gather requirements, and provide feedback in plain non-technical English.
Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation.
At least 2 years of Computer Science college education.

Nice to Have:

1-2 years experience writing Java applications.
Experience with NetBeans.
Familarity with Linux, especially RedHat, Fedora, or CentOS.
Familiarity with VB/ASP applications.
Familiarity with the Laravel framework.
BS in Computer Science.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $95,000 to 110,000 USD Annually

[dcphp-dev] [job] Developers needed for UMD research study

Participate in a research study being conducted by netCHI lab at the University of Maryland's iSchool. We are interested in improving the software updating experience for users. In particular, we would like to know how network administrators and application developers manage, develop, and deploy software updates.

Eligibility:

You are eligible for this study if you:

are a Network Administrator or Application Developer managing or developing software updates
are at least 18 years old

[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Question about Sunday meetings

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to return to a more regular meditation practice after several years apart from it (and the much less formal practice involved in having two preschoolers around...). I would love to start trying to come on Sundays, but I don't know how often I could stay for the whole time period, given dinner timing and preparing for the next school/workday. Do you all think it's ok to come just for the beginning guided meditation sometimes? I would much prefer, of course, to stay for the dharma talk as well, but I am feeling I'd much rather have some of the experience than none of it. But of course, I don't want to leave early if that would be disruptive or disrespectful. Thanks so much in advance for any input.
