Responding with Compassion: An Introduction to the Immigration Justice Vigil
As we witness so many interwoven challenges in our world, it can be difficult to know how to respond. The needs are immense, and it's natural to feel overwhelmed or experience a sense of collective grief.
Please join Hugh Byrne and members of CML, IMCW, and other Dharma and mindfulness communities across the DMV who have been actively supporting our immigrant neighbors. They will share about their work in immigration justice and the upcoming July 30 vigil outside the Hyattsville Immigration Court.
The vigil includes walking meditation, loving-kindness practice, and readings from Buddhist and other faith traditions as an expression of care, compassion, and solidarity with those coming before the court.
You'll also hear reflections from those who have participated in the vigil, learn what to expect if you choose to attend, and discover ways to support this important work. We'll also introduce a new resource for sangha members to connect with one another as they explore bringing the Dharma into action.
Whether you're simply curious, feeling called to participate, or looking for ways to respond with compassion, we hope you'll join us.
You can participate via this Zoom link.
