A friendly reminder: new Spiritual Friends groups (also known as Kalyana Mitta (KM) groups) are forming right now!
You may have already heard about these local, peer-led groups of 6–12 meditators, which meet about every two weeks—typically in members' homes—to meditate together, check in, and discuss mindfulness and compassion in daily life.
If you're interested, now is a great time to express interest so you can be part of a shared conversation about when, where, and how often your new group will gather.
To sign up, please join the Small Group Formations channel of the DD WhatsApp community (link here), and add your name to the Google sheet you'll find there (it has a separate tab for each group).

We're creating this group as hopefully skillful response to the particular challenges members of Downtown Dharma may be holding. _Kalyana mitta_ or "spiritual friendship" is considered essential to Buddhist practice and points to the critical role of community in wise response to suffering. In contemporary Insight Buddhist communities, "Spiritual Friend Groups" or "KM groups" are a proven way to provide mutual support and a shared space for development. So, as an experiment, this WhatsApp channel can be a space for the formation of KM / Spiritual Friends Groups. Groups can general or form around a particular theme (e.g., BIPOC, Govt Employees, Climate & Ecological, etc.). It's up to the groups themselves to experiment with what may resonate. Groups can be started here (#forming), perhaps you already have a group but have room to add some new members (#adding), or you might post if you're open to joining a group that's either being formed or adding members (#seeking). Feel free to share #formats for group gatherings or other #organizing tips that you have found helpful as well. Thanks for coming to this space. Let's discover and share what can lead onward.
