[Downtown Dharma Sangha Listserv] This Sunday: Questioning Silence

Dear Sangha,

As a member of our community here in the nation's capital, you may be feeling distressed or even overwhelmed by the actions emanating from the new administration. It is as if madness itself has taken the wheel and many of us, perhaps you yourself, are directly impacted. How can the wisdom and practices from the mindfulness traditions support us in meeting not just the suffering in our hearts, but our everyday obligations and the missions that move us? Furthermore, you may be asking, where is the response? How is it that we don't see an organized, empowered, ignited counter movement to join?

This Sunday, we'll be making space and time for collective difficulty, for that is an essential role for Sangha. We'll then investigate how we might read and misread what appears to be inaction, what sounds like silence. We'll conclude by inviting possibilities for more connection within our Sangha, if that is indeed helpful.

In this crucial time for this city and our particular community, I hope you will join us.

In-person: Sunday, 7 to 8:30pm @ Yoga District — 1910 14th Street NW, 3rd Floor, Washington, DC (please arrive 5-10 minutes early)
