Improvements to our Privacy Policy and Privacy Controls

Google
Updating Our Privacy Policy
This month, we're updating our Privacy Policy to make it easier for you to understand what information we collect and why we collect it. We've also taken steps to improve our Privacy Checkup and other controls we provide to safeguard your data and protect your privacy.
Nothing is changing about your current settings or how your information is processed. Rather, we've improved the way we describe our practices and how we explain the options you have to update, manage, export, and delete your data.
We're making these updates as new data protection regulations come into effect in the European Union, and we're taking the opportunity to make improvements for Google users around the world.
Making our Privacy Policy easier to understand
Simpler structure & clearer language
We've improved the navigation and organization of the policy to make it easier to find what you're looking for. We've also explained our practices in more detail and with clearer language.
New descriptive videos & illustrations
Often a visual description is easier to understand than text alone, so we've added short videos and illustrations throughout the policy.
Embedded privacy controls
We've made it easier to jump to key settings directly from the policy, helping you make choices about your privacy.
The revised policy is available here and will take effect on May 25, 2018.
Improving your privacy controls
Within the past year, we updated My Activity so that you can better access and manage the data in your Google Account. We also launched a redesigned Dashboard, which allows you to easily see an overview of products you're using and your data associated with them.
This month, we've updated our Privacy Checkup with new illustrations and examples to help you make more informed choices about your key privacy controls. And since we understand that your preferences may change over time, the new Privacy Checkup enables you to sign up for regular reminders to check your privacy settings.
To learn more about these and other controls to manage your privacy, visit your Google Account.

[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Sunday Sangha @ The Potter's House 6-7:30 pm

"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about.

Ideas, language, even the phrase each other doesn't make any sense." - Rumi

Dear Sangha,

We will meet on Sunday, May 13 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the Community Room at the Potter's House (1658 Columbia Rd, NW) to meditate and further explore the heart practices/bramaviharas (loving-kindness/metta, compassion/karuna, sympathetic joy/mudita, and equanimity/upekkha). Our focus will be upekkha.

Chairs are available and if you are able to bring your own sitting gear, please do. If you would like to help set-up, please arrive five to ten minutes early. This meeting space is wheelchair accessible.

I will be subbing for Kristin who is in New Mexico to be with her father who recently entered hospice care.

With Metta,
Linda

[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Thank you and good-bye from Klia

Hi there,

As Kathleen wrote in the email about tomorrow's class, I'll need to miss what was going to be my final gathering. It's a big deal for me to not have a formal transition and in-person good-bye. I'm also sorry to not give a chance to anyone who wanted to say good-bye in person. I assumed I would be there until this past week, when a confluence of unexpected events made it not possible.

I'm thrilled that Ofosu was able to step in...just sorry I won't be there for his class. He's a fantastic teacher, so enjoy! And a huge thank you to Kathleen for making this possible!

Some more thank you's: I can see the sangha growing and strengthening in its new location at the Potter's House and with the wise and heartfelt leadership of Linda, Devin, and Kristin, with whom it's been a blessing to work and get to know. A thank you, as well, to all the sangha members who've contributed with presence, time, money, sharing, teaching, and heart. I've personally worked most closely with Erin Brantley and Scott Drewes - I feel incredible appreciation to you two for your leadership, strength in speaking up, and the many many ways you kept the sangha going during times of transition.

Lastly, to Nancy Murphy, as you move from the DC area in early June, I can't overstate how richly you've contributed to our sangha. A deep bow from me to you. Many blessings in the next phase.

Kind regards,
Klia

If you want to help me set up I will be there by 5:45. See you tomorrow!
