Dear Downtown Dharma Sangha --
I'm delighted to be visiting you again this Sunday -- this time, joined by my dear friends and collaborators, Daniel Thorson and Cheryl Hsu -- to offer an evening on the theme of World-Building through Spiritual Friendship.
The sensibility, and title, of this evening is inspired by Soulmaking Dharma -- a "flowering of the Dharma for our times," given to us by the late Rob Burbea. Rob was a wonderful and groundbreaking teacher (whom our dear Kristin Barker studied closely with).
We will guide a short sitting, engage in a dialogue among the three of us, and invite you to connect in small groups. Together, we will investigate questions such as:
- What does it mean to commit to friendship as a sacred practice -- and as a response to our times?
- How can our Dharma practice serve as a foundation for re-imagining, re-enchanting, and re-building our world?
We hope you'll join us -- and bring a dear friend.
- In-person: Sunday, 7 to 8:30pm @ Yoga District — 1910 14th Street NW, 3rd Floor, Washington, DC (please arrive 5-10 minutes early)
- Online via Zoom: https://zoom.us/j/466237117?pwd=cGxHaTJlTVhBdldVSk8weDZuSW5udz09
With love,
Dechen // Ellen
