Greetings Dear Sangha,
If you're available the evening of Friday, September 22 and during the day on Saturday the 23rd and might be interested in one of the most powerful responses to ecological crises that I know of, please consider joining folks from various Mindfulness/Buddhist communities in this gathering in NW DC around The Work that Reconnects.
This is a unique opportunity to experience a powerful process led by one of the Work's long time leaders and build essential community along the way.
I'll be there and hope you can join me!
With appreciation,
Kristin
EcoSangha Gathering: Waking Up in a New Relationship with Earth |
"The most remarkable feature of this historical moment on Earth is not that we are on the way to destroying the world — we've actually been on the way for quite a while. It is that we are beginning to wake up, as from a millennia-long sleep, to a whole new relationship to our world, to ourselves and each other." – Joanna Macy |

If your heart is breaking in the face of the Great Unraveling of ecological, economic, social and political systems, come join us for a brave and beautiful journey as we embrace the reality that we are not separate from the suffering of our world. Scholar of Buddhism, Joanna Macy, is the creator of Work That Reconnects, which invites us to choose gratitude and put our attention on the Great Turning, the movement to a life-sustaining society she calls "the essential adventure of our time." Using the powerful tools of the Work That Reconnects, specifically Coming From Gratitude, Honoring Our Pain for the World, Seeing With New Eyes, and Going Forth, we invite you to renew your connection to what is yours to do and how your unique and authentic gifts are needed in service to Earth at this time of planetary crisis.
Please join One Earth Sangha and Interfaith Power & Light (DC.MD.NoVA), as we convene EcoSangha DMV, a local Buddhist group for those embodying fierce compassion in the face of the climate crisis. Together, we will gather in NW DC over two days for an immersive workshop guided by two extraordinary teachers: Anne and Terry Symens-Bucher. This workshop is hosted by several Buddhist sanghas and welcomes all interested participants. Registrants should plan to participate in the entire two-day workshop.
