Meet your Facilitator...


Kamilah Crawley, MPH, (She/Her/Hers) 

Institute of African American Mindfulness, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Lead Facilitator

The Mindful Woman LLC, Owner & 

Kamilah is a public health professional, mindfulness facilitator, and Intrinsic Health & Well-being Coach. She has over a decade of experience in planning and implementing evidence-based interventions, health education workshops, risk-reduction counseling, and professional and community training sessions.

Kamilah is the founder of The Mindful Woman, LLC, and an adjunct professor at Kean University. Kamilah merges her professional knowledge in public health, her personal mindfulness practice, training, and her passion for cultural healing.  

Highlights:  

  • Served as program coordinator for the Children's Hospital of NJ @ Newark Beth Israel Medical Center's School-Based Youth Services program in Newark, NJ. There Kamilah provided individual and group interventions, health awareness events, and mindfulness programming for students. 

  • Provided sexual health programming and training sessions for Planned  Parenthood of Central & Greater Northern NJ. Kamilah provided training sessions for Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, NJ Primary Care Association, and school district employees in five New Jersey counties.

  • Designated as a certified Koru mindfulness teacher. Koru is an evidenced-based mindfulness curriculum initially developed to help college/university students (i.e emerging adults: 18-29 yrs) manage stress with mindfulness practices. 

  • Established The Mindful Woman, LLC to focus on the intersection of public health and mindfulness. The Mindful Woman, LLC, centers on sharing mindfulness practices centered on self-awareness and self-care for the purposes of cultivating healing, and well-being. 

Kamilah received her B.S. in Public Health from Temple University and her MPH from Rutgers University School of Public Health. She has attended the  Holistic Life Foundation's Youth and Yoga training and is a certified Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher.
