[dcphp-dev] [job] Looking for help!

Hi everyone,

A non-profit organization that I run has undertaken a Symfony-based project to build an online portal for its members. Unfortunately, the firm that initially began the project went out of business mid-development. We are looking for a developer to assist with finishing the project, either by completing the work in Symfony or redeveloping it as necessary in another PHP framework. I can send along the completed site designs and further information about the portal requirements, including the code as it currently stands, to anyone who might be interested. Any leads or suggestions are appreciated!

[dcphp-dev] [job] Junior Web Developer - PHP / MySQL

Hello,

My architecture firm, RTKL Associates (http://www.rtkl.com), is hiring a full-time Junior Web Developer to work with me on-site at our DC office at 21st and L St NW.

I run a WordPress network and other installations totaling 10 sites. I require assistance with the development and management of these sites and other digital marketing activities. This work is primarily HTML/CSS/jQuery/PHP/MySQL-based. We also use Git, duct tape, elbow grease and work with a great group of designers, videographers, photographers, writers and architectural designers to support all external and internal communications for our international architecture firm and parent company.

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Digital Marketing, Communications or a related field
1-3 years of experience managing website content and/or developing or designing for the web
Experience designing or editing websites built with HTML/HTML 5, CSS, and a JavaScript framework such as jQuery, Dojo or MooTools
Experience editing images and videos for display
Experience working with PHP and MySQL

Nice to Have

Experience with WordPress
Experience with Drupal

Salary is commensurate with experience.

[Downtown Dharma Listserve] Tonight...

Dear sangha,

It is with heartfelt apologies that I write to say that I simply forgot that I was teaching tonight. Period. We did a new schedule for 2015 with me and Adam teaching much more often, and I simply forgot to reference it.

Please forgive me and try (if you can) to fold these events into your practice, while I will make sure that I check the schedule each week!

I want you to know about an online Sunday Dharma Offering called WorldWide Insight that is being launched this Sunday, Feb. 1st. Operating on a dana basis, Worldwide Insight is a Dharma practice group that you can join from anywhere in the world. Each Sunday, respected Insight Meditation teachers offer meditation instruction, teachings, and live Q&A on video. I will be giving the dharma talk on Sunday, March 1st. You can find out more information and register by going to the website.

Another offering that I recently mentioned is the 2015 Awakening Joy course.
The live class in Berkeley is full. (We've started a waiting list with seating probably available next month.) The online course starts next week with unlimited enrollment.

The course is a great way for people to cultivate well-being through effective daily life practices drawn from Buddhist teachings. It's done as a nourishing experience. No guilt, no pressure, no failing. As always, if the suggested donation doesn't work, people can offer lower rates that do. People can register by going to www.awakeningjoy.info.
